No. 67 Caboose 1913 - 1930 | |||||||||||||||
Circa 1913 (T1) - Note that this caboose has full lettering above the door guides and 'CABOOSE 67' under each window. Below is a picture of another example, note that this one has an inside sliding door, like the earlier litho caboose. These No. 67s are listed as 1913 due to the internal construction with the Arch Spreaders Circa 1914 (T2) - This one has the 1914 change to the internal spreaders, but externally you can see that the door is higher and the door brace now cuts off the end of the lettering. Note that there are no corner braces on the lithograph in any of the models pictured here that are prior to 1916. Circa 1915 (T3) - Externally this one looks similar to the 1914 model above except that it has a passenger car door. This would be the last example to have riveted trucks. Circa 1916 (T5) - Complete change in the lithography. Note the corner braces and 'THE IVES RAILWAY LINES' lettering on the right side. This example is easy to spot with it's T-Trucks, twist-tab coupler and later litho. Circa 1917 (T6a) - Type A, M-style trucks. Circa 1917 (T6b) - Same as above but brown lithograph. Circa 1918 (T7) - Type B, M-style trucks, but note high definition in stamping Circa 1919 (T8a) - Cut frame without truss rods. Circa 1919 (T8a) - Same as above, but??? Circa 1920 (T9) - Type B, M-style trucks, Circa 1922 (T10) - Circa 1925 (T12) - Type C, M-style trucks Circa 1928 - This is the rare 67E which actually is lighted (see below) - note the red roof and white lettering. Below the bottom view here are two other variations of this caboose.
Circa 1929 (T13) - Type D, M-style trucks, 1925-1929 Rivet. Note lettering on these is yellow, roof is red. Circa 1930 (T14) - Type D, M-style trucks, 1930 truck rivet, brown litho with white lettering. Circa 1930 (T15) - Similar to above but red litho with yellow lettering. Original boxes for this caboose will say No. 70. Some of these cabooses have an unique end Circa 1930 (T16) - Lionel body on IVES frame. Note yellow painted window inserts. Circa 1928-29 (T17) - Rare variation - plain red litho and rubber stamped. Note the lettering 'CABOOSE' is the same stamping used on the wide gauge No. 195. Pictured below are two more with rubber stamped lettering, both are painted in a lighter red, one has a peacock cupola. We think this caboose was most likely made in 1928, it has been found with a 1928 set and most of the one's we've seen have the light socket and hollow rivet truck which was used in 1928. This caboose has a very . There is also a 4 wheel version known to exist |
