121  Caboose    (Circa 1928-1930)

The Flyer number was 3211 and the cupola roof was red

Circa 1928 -Bright red American Flyer body with deep blue cupola roof on type D, M-style trucks. This one is a little different in that it has 4 Ives Railway Lines plates and no number plates, we've also seen it with blank plates. Ives always used their 67 caboose with the longer cars and probably didn't have the number plates yet for these new American Flyer bodied cars.

Circa 1928-1929 - Lou Hertz in his book CMT mentioned a red/white and blue No. 121 caboose that had been a special order by a customer we believe this is the car, the tan color on this caboose is the same that was used on several American Flyer pieces. Lou also mentions a canary yellow No. 66 tank car.

Do you know what color the window inserts were on the Lionel versions?

Circa 1930 - Red Lionel body with peacock cupola and yellow windows on type D, M-style trucks. The example below is identical except for the all red roof.

Just to cover all the combinations, here's one with a peacock roof and red cupola

I'm conflicted with this one as it's 100% Lionel except for the plates, so the car could have easily been put together.
