No 809  Trolley    (Circa 1911-16)

cream and gray roof

The trolleys above and below are the earliest 809s I've been able to find - notice the 6 spoke cast iron wheels and gray steps. Yes the number on the side is still 810, but any trolley without the pole is really an 809 catalog number.

Still has the 810 number on it, but plain green frame.

Here's the underside of the 809 trolley note the roller pickup and that only one of the wheels is geared.

green / cream roof

A later 809 which has 10 spoke cast iron wheels.

2-tone green roof

Another late version. This one appears to have a reverse drum installed on the motor.

End view of 809

This is a boxed 809 set as it was sold from the factory. This one is very late, although last pictured in a catalog in 1916, price lists indicate you could still purchase one as late as 1918 or 1919?

A late 809 with tin wheels.

This trolley just recently surfaced and it would appear to be original although we can't explain it's existence. It would appear to be of much later production, at least the motor is. This example has a cast iron frame equipped with 'People Catchers'.

The example above has had a headlight installed in the front and inside. Several of these have shown up over the years, but to this point we believe these were done by someone other than Ives.
