130 Series Litho Passenger Cars (Circa 1917-1923) | |||||||||||||||
To the best of our knowledge Ives did not make any 131 baggage cars during this period, at least we've never seen any.
Circa 1918 - The example pictured above has the brown steel litho with rivets, embossed doors, high Marklin trucks and a two piece roof, the one piece roof like the one used in the picture below was first used on these cars around 1918-1919. The car pictured below can also be found with high marklin trucks and a two piece roof. Here's an example of a No. 130 with late high marklin trucks and a two piece roof. Brown litho with green detail, the example below has a much more green color to the litho. Close up of litho on these cars. Circa 1917 - here's one that's hard to explain. The body and frame appear to be from 1912 with red wood litho, but the trucks are the non-embossed m style trucks from 1917.
Circa 1918 - another unusual variation of this 129 Saratoga. This one is painted olive green and rubber stamped. It still has the two piece roof, but early m style trucks. The example below is pretty much the same except it has the one piece roof.
Circa 1917 -1918. A crossover variation, this one has high marklin trucks and a two-piece roof, but has the green litho with the rivet detail. Below is a close up of the lithograph on this car.
Circa 1918-1919 - This car has the brown steel litho with early M style trucks, the car below is more green in color. Circa 1920-1922 - green litho with green roof. |
