130 Series Litho Passenger Cars    (Circa 1914-1917)

No. 131  Baggage

Circa 1914-17 - Note the high marklin trucks, embossed frame and embossed, green passenger doors

The baggage car in blue

Compare the 131 baggage above with the one below. The example above has no red stripping in the litho. This baggage was discovered in a set with the two blue cars and is the only one we've seen like this.

No. 130   Buffet Car

Circa 1914-17 - high marklin trucks, automatic couplers, embossed frame and embossed green passenger doors. The car below is identical except that it is in a very unusual blue litho.

No. 129  Saratoga  Car

Circa 1914-1917 - As with the other two cars shown above, the 129 Saratoga car has embossed green doors, high marklin trucks, automatic couplers and embossed frames.

Hard to figure, but there are a few of these around - Yes the litho is Blue, it's not your computer. .

We've found all three cars (129,130,131) in this blue color, very striking cars, hard to know why they didn't make more.

Another unusual set of cars from this period had roofs that were painted very similar to the One Gauge 180 series cars, note the light green clerestory with painted stripes and knobs.

Close up of litho.
