No 3253    (Circa 1919-25)

I'm actually a dark gray with a red frame.

The earliest variation of the 3253 came with a black or gray cab and a red frame, circa 1919-20.

came in sets with dark green 129 cars.

The 2nd variation of the 3253 was green with gold lettering - circa 1921-23

Circa 1923-24 - The last variation of the 3253 was orange with black lettering. Some of the later versions of this engine are known to be stamped "MOTOR" under the number instead of "N.Y.C. & H.R.

We believe this variation is from 1925 - Note the lettering on the right has reverted to MOTOR with the 3253 on top, similar to the brass plate 3255 which was new that year.Below is a green one with the same 'MOTOR' placement. Note that this one also has a 'shadow' to the rubber stamping almost like it was stamped twice?

Another color variation this one is Kelly Green.

1924 only this is the version made up for the John Wanamaker company that year.
