1929-30 Herald Boxcars

In General all 1929 and 1930 boxcars have red roofs and journal trucks. Rich feels the difference between the two years is the rivet used to attach the trucks. Early trucks use the same rivet found on all boxcars from 1925 to 1928, later trucks use the longer rivet needed when IVES started using the 'snake pull' couplers. The longer rivet when used for the non - snake pull couplers on these 60 series cars, causes the rivet to split and curl, it also makes the trucks much looser than earlier versions of the car.
