No 3243 4-4-4    (1921-1924)

Circa 1921 - Dark olive green. Type I frame with 1 gauge couplers, early motor and square opening for reverse lever. A very hard color to find, but just to show you no matter how rare there's always a chance for variations, note the two below, one has red tin pilot wheels, the other green tin pilot wheels (most common)

This one appears original as it as all the correct trim, but it was stamped 3241.

Circa 1921-22 - unusual locomotive with matching yellow-orange frame.

Circa 1921-1923 - White with type I frame with four steps. More white engines on Specials section

Circa 1922-23 - The loco above is yellow, the one below is yellow-orange. Both have type II frames with a keyhole opening for the reversing lever. 99% of the time the light yellow and yellow-orange cabs have green windows. Note that the one above has green tin pilot wheels, the one below has red tin pilot wheels. The example below also has factory red painted trim that we have not seen on others.

Circa 1923 - Orange with red windows, type II frame.

Circa 1922-23- can't tell you much about this one may be one of a kind, but it looks to be apple green.

Circa 1923 - Red with green windows, type II frame.

Circa 1921-1923 - Deep red/brown or maroon with silver lettering.

Circa 1924 - Wanamaker brown, manual reverse above and new 'R' version below. Type III frame.

Circa 1924 - White 3243 with type III frame, six steps square slot for reverse lever

Circa 1924 - Orange with type III frame. Note that all engines on this page have a total of 24 cotter pins holding all the handrails on. Compare this with later 3243s.
