500 Series Litho Passenger Cars (Circa 1916-1922) | |||||||||||||||
Circa 1916-1918 - Here's Ives using parts out of sequence again. Early winged frame under a 2nd series body with steel sides and rivets. Below is another example with a chocolate brown body. The buggy or winged frame was first used in 1913, but we believe this car appears to be post 1920. Above and below are two 550 series baggage cars that use a 60 series body, only difference would be the slots are punched for the door guides.
Circa 1916-1922 - Maybe the easiest to find of this series, this 550 has rivet detail litho and a second series frame.
Circa 1916-1922 - The 551 above has the later steel litho with the early frame. The one below uses the 2nd series frame.
Same vintage, just a No. 61 body on a 4 wheel frame. Unusual example using a brown 61 body on the early frame.
Circa 1916-1918 - Above and below is the Parlor car with early frame and 2nd series body
Circa 1921-1922 - This car still has the rivet detail but is chocolate brown with a dark green roof.
Circa 1920-1922 - Looks like a 552, but has number 62 - still considered a 552 with four wheels. Just another reason why these 'buggy' spring cars are so hard to date - this chocolate brown 62 car is normally associated with 1922.The Example below is dark green with a light brown roof.
Circa 1915-16 - Using up old stock again, here's a car that would have been in a set as a 552, but it uses the older Harvard body from a 1913-14 8 wheel car. |
