130 Series Litho Passenger Cars (Circa 1910-1911) | |||||||||||||||
Circa 1910-11. The red variation of the wood grained baggage that was new in 1910. The one pictured above has lacquered trucks, the one pictured below has black trucks. Some collectors feel the lacquered trucks are earlier, but this is unclear. Note that both baggage cars have green BAGGAGE doors, this would indicate that they came in sets where the other two cars were lithographed in green. If the baggage car had actually been part of a three car red set it would have red baggage doors.
Circa 1910-1911 - Green litho variation. Note the T trucks flat frame with no embossing and red passenger doors. The example above has black T trucks with green Baggage doors, the example below has lacquered trucks and red baggage doors, which would indicate it came with two Red Litho cars. Note that the litho colors are just reversed on the red and green cars.
Circa 1910-1911. The green variation above and the red variation below both have lacquered T trucks, flat non-embossed frames and red celluloid windows, some examples will be found with clear celluloid, but this appears to be a general change and not related to the color of the litho. Circa 1910-1911 - the green variation above and the red variation below both have T trucks, hook couplers, red passenger doors and non-embossed, flat frames and truss rods. Although difficult to see in these pictures, the green car has green celluloid in the windows and the red car has red celluloid, although we've seen both cars with clear celluloid also. Circa 1912 - This car was cataloged in 1912 only with the 3217/1117 and 3218/1118 engines. - IVES was using 1 gauge bodies on their long passenger cars. These passenger cars came with T-Trucks / flat truss rods and automatic couplers. Note that the red and green inks are reversed on the lithograph from these cars. |
