The earliest versions of IVES big clockwork had cast in boiler bands and dished out cast iron wheels.
It is our estimate that less than 4 of these early 25s still exist. We think they were probably only made in 1901. The photo above shows one with a green strip under the cab, the tender is also different but looks like the one in the 1901 catalog although there is some question about originality. Below is a closeup of the front truck which is a different construction than the red stripe version and the pilot wheels are unique to anything else from Ives. |
