564 Box Car (Circa 1913-21) | |||||||||||||||
Circa 1913-1915 - The first two years this was actually cataloged as a No. 554, Ives changed the number to 564 in 1915. Early Santa Fe in Yellow / Orange color with early type I frame. This type I frame was used off and on up until 1921? so it's really impossible to say how early this car is. The type I frame appears to have been originally designed for passenger cars only in 1913, but was being used on freight cars also by 1915.
Circa 1913-1915 - Union Line with early Type I frame. The box cars much like the rest of the series are extremely hard to find with this frame. Circa 1916-1918 - The Rock Island above has riveted couplers, so we're assuming it's an early one.
Hard to tell if roofs have been switched, but the rest of this car looks early with the dark maroon litho and font. Early 4 wheel box cars with a lithographed roof, although roofs can be changed, we have seen 8 wheel boxcars with this roof that we could verify. |
