Lionel Production Steam Locomotives (1931-1932)

 

Circa 1931- IVES No. 1760 - except for the plates it's the same as a Lionel No. 384

1931 1760E - the 'E' version has red lettering on brass plates

Circa 1932 - IVES No. 1770 (above) and No. 1770E (below) with orange stripe, except for the plates this locomotive is identical to a Lionel No. 390. The plates on the 1770 are black in observed samples, the 1770E are red. Tenders always seem to have black lettering.

TENDERS

Circa 1931-1932 - IVES No. 1760T Tender with green stripe, we believe these tenders also came with an 1134 when used to pull the 3 large Lionel bodied 400 series cars in early 1931. Below is a bottom view showing the stamped lettering on the bottom.

From the bottom above and below are a couple differently marked 1760T tenders.

Tender variation with orange stripe.

The tender above and below is a 1760 TX. This has 200 series trucks to go with the 200 series freight cars.

Circa 1932 - a No. 390-X tender this one also has 200 series trucks.
